「瞑想」を意味する英語のmeditation（メディテーション）とサンスクリット語のdhyana（ディヤーナ）を組み合わせたもの。dhyanaは、中国語では禅那といい、「禅」の語源でもあります。香りに集中し、心身が満たされることで浄化と癒しが促されるのです。瞑想をするように心を落ち着かせ、整えることをmedhyanaは目指します。
